Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of voice recognition on the interaction between fear, tension, immersion, and post-game effects in a 3D psychological horror game. By observing players’ experiences, the study investigates how specific design elements can influence emotional reactions during gameplay. The results show that fear plays a key role in creating tension, while tension only slightly deepens immersion. Gameplay helps immerse players, which then influences the lasting psychological effects after playing. Overall, the game succeeds in making players feel fear and tension but could further fully engage them and leave a stronger lasting impact. Improving gameplay variety and voice-based mechanics could make the experience even more immersive and memorable.
