Residential building of the XVI – first half of the XVII centuries in the Bely Gorod (from the excavations of the IA RAS on the territory of the Central Telegraph)

The article is dedicated to the review of a residential building discovered during archaeological work on the territory of the Central Telegraph. A detailed description of the research is given. Analysis of stratigraphic data and ceramic material made it possible to determine the time of the building's existence as the 16th century and to associate its destruction with the fire of 1611. The building was not completely included in the area of archeological research – most of it was destroyed during the construction of an underground parking lot in the 20th century. Nevertheless, a combination of field studies, written and cartographic sources makes it possible to reconstruct the structural features of the building. This is a classic three-chamber building for Moscow of the 16th – 17th centuries in the form of a connection "domicile – vestibule – domicile" or "domicile – vestibule – cage" with a stove in the residential part. The status of the building's inhabitants is indicated by the stove, covered with red wide-framed tiles, as well as fragments of imported glass vessels.
