TLDR

Because females seem to have started the secular trend in height earlier than their male contemporaries, the height dimorphism decreased during the second half of the 19th century, and the improving net nutritional status of Swiss females may have been one of the contributors behind the general rise in well‐being of the country's population from the later 19th Century onwards.
