Abstract

This study focuses on the ability of Artificial Intelligence-based robotic process automation (AI-RPA) to enhance job satisfaction for lower-level employees by automating mundane and repetitive tasks within business processes. Utilizing AI allows these employees to focus on creative tasks like strategizing new marketing campaigns. This research reviews existing literature on work-life balance and perceptions of AI at diverse organizational levels, noting varied responses to AI's impact on job satisfaction. A gap in literature is the lack of understanding of how the perception of AI-RPA differs across demographics, including age, gender, generation, and cultural backgrounds, and how these perceptions influence AI adoption. This paper employs a qualitative research method to analyze data from one-to-one semi-structed interviews with employees of organizations implementing AI about the employees’ well-being, organizational perspectives, and ethical considerations of AI. The findings provide empirical evidence that integrating AI boosts job satisfaction for lower-level employees, leading to improved work-life balance.
