Iconografía y simbolismo de las aves en piezas

del sitio Arqueológico Ciudad del Jaguar-T1

(Honduras)

Honduras es un país que, por su ubicación en el corazón de Centroamérica, facilitó en época precolombina, un flujo migratorio en donde diferentes culturas del norte y del sur interactuaron, intercambiaron conocimientos y se mezclaron con los nativos del territorio, creando así un espacio multicultural. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo el estudio iconográfico y simbólico de piezas con representaciones figurativas de aves del sitio arqueológico Ciudad del Jaguar-T1, que se encuentran en el Centro de Investigación Ciudad Blanca (El Aguacate, Catacamas, Honduras). Realizo esta investigación a través del estudio estilístico, iconográfico y simbólico de las piezas, que me permiten hacer una lectura e interpretación de las imágenes utilizando como punto de partida la cosmovisión, la representación y el simbolismo de las aves en las culturas precolombinas de América.

Honduras is a country that, due to its location in the heart of Central America, facilitated a migratory flow in pre-Columbian times where different cultures from the north and south interacted, exchanged knowledge and mixed with the natives of the territory, thus creating a multicultural space. The objective of this work is the iconographic and symbolic study of pieces with figurative representations of birds from La Ciudad del Jaguar- T1 archaeological site, which are located in the Ciudad Blanca Research Center (El Aguacate, Catacamas, Honduras). I carry out this research through the stylistic, iconographic and symbolic study of the pieces, which allow me to read and interpret the images using as a starting point the worldview, representation and symbolism of birds in the pre-Columbian cultures of America.
