Abstract

In this development of health analysis, Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) will be one of the most important complications among diabetic patients, often leading to infections and related amputations if not detecting of health issues at an early stage. An accurate manner and automated form of differentiation on DFU images can importantly assist clinicians in timely determination and related treatment planning. This work gives an adaptable framework for DFU classification by a fine-tuned ResNet50 mechanism, which uses the strengths of deep residual-type learning to capture any of the visual patterns relevant to ulceration. Unlike conventional convolutional neural infrastructure, the fine-adjusted ResNet50 in our framework will be optimized to apply pre-trained knowledge to the specific parameters of DFU datasets, thereby improving related feature extraction and lowering the risk of overfitting. The proposed method is described by a combination of transfer-type learning with a customized training mechanism that improves model generalization and confirms robustness over varied clinical scenarios. By employing this approach, the framework gives a reliable and scalable solution for automated firm of DFU classification, giving valuable support for healthcare experts in minimizing diagnostic errors and improving patient outcomes.
