In our current era, it is easy to envision a health professions education culture supported by standardized universal digital badges1 . This could function as an expansive online curriculum vita, illustrating individuals' clinical competencies, additional training experiences, research profile and an array of other formal and informal skills acquired over their career. The digital badge would be consistent across institutions, such that your credentials move with you in a common digital language.
