The Austreberto Martínez Villegas’s monograph examines the ideological development of the Synarchist Movement in Mexico, which occurred under the influence of shifts in the interpretation of Catholic social teaching and the concept of Christian democracy, as well as the political reforms implemented in the country. As the publication is available only in Spanish, the review includes lengthy quotations with some of Martínez Villegas’s own conclusions and observations.
