Abstract
Nowadays, with the popularity of social media, more and more male users are emerging. The research aims to explore the impact of media on male gender equality concepts by analyzing the current situation and applying the theoretical frameworks of social psychology and communication studies. This study discusses the evolution of male attitudes on communication platforms, from the early 21st century, influenced by traditional patriarchal society, men showed resistance and indifference according to social dominance theory, to the polarization in the 2010s, with some men engaging in systematic rationalization, and then to the 2020s, when influenced by the scarcity effect, gradually accepting gender equality. The research results show that social media has played a promoting role in shaping more positive gender equality concepts among men; however, despite the progress highlighted in the report, resistance still exists in certain groups. The report also emphasizes how digital platforms can change gender perceptions and advocate for a shift towards equality in society. It also offers references for gender equality interventions on online platforms and encourages educational strategies to raise awareness.
