Abstract
This article presents a compact switched-capacitor seven level hexagon structured multilevel inverter (7L-HSMLI) topology that features a significantly decreased component count. The inverter system uses just one DC supply, two capacitors half the input voltage rating, and nine power switches to produce seven different voltage levels at the output. The suggested inverter includes significant features such as enhanced voltage amplification 1.5 times, decreased component utilisation, elimination of bidirectional devices, capacitor self-balancing, and reduced overall standing voltage. The proposed topology is further analysed using specific metrics, including THD analysis, cost function per level, switching stress. MATLAB/Simulink environment are used to show the usefulness of the suggested architecture in both steady-state and dynamic scenarios, and also tested in HIL (Hardware in loop) Opal-RT real-time emulator.
