The latest literature reviews on biological properties, clinical applications and regulatory requirements for SVF are analyzed in order to form a general understanding of the current status of SVF in adipose tissue as an alternative source for regenerative medicine.

Abstract

Abstract - The development of plastic aesthetic surgery has contributed to an increase in the number of studies of the qualities of adipose tissue, which remained after liposuction operations. This helped to describe in detail its potential and to determine that the stromal-vascular fraction (SVF) of adipose tissue contains stem cells that can be a potential source of materials for regenerative medicine.

Dozens of studies are currently underway to study the potential of SVF, in particular its application for skin problems, scars, osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, wounds, androgenetic alopecia, vasculopathy, migraine and scarring of the vocal folds. But despite the amount of research and possible prospects, there are still no officially approved protocols and approvals for the use of this technique for the treatment of specific diseases. Since the experiments carried out are still insufficient, and the legal regulation of this area has not been formed.

This paper analyzes the latest literature reviews on biological properties, clinical applications and regulatory requirements for SVF in order to form a general understanding of the current status of SVF in adipose tissue as an alternative source for regenerative medicine.
