摘要

The Khōjā of Tanzania, Discontinuities of a Postcolonial Religious Identity is a multidisciplinary diachronic study of the historical development of Khōjā religious identity in Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam over two centuries, from an Indic Hindu-Muslim caste (jnāti) to an Afro-Asian Muslim community (jamātī) towards a Near Eastern imaged Islamic nation (ummatī).
