InstructRAG: Instructing Retrieval-Augmented Generation with Explicit Denoising

This work proposes I NSTRUCT RAG, where LMs explicitly learn the denoising process through self-synthesized rationales, which requires no additional supervision, allows for easier verification of the predicted answers, and effectively improves generation accuracy.
